BARREN LAND 

 
The last few months I didn't feel

things were going right

The joy I'd had was missing

I felt I had lost sight 

It's never easy moving on

but I'm being called away

The fire needs rekindling

but at some other place 

I'll be praying constantly

for the friends I've left behind

our paths will cross again someday

I need time to unwind 

The Lord works in mysterious ways

but I'll never understand

How rich this soil once was

and now it's barren land
